Macbeth Part 1 Reflection

In the part 1 movie of Macbeth, although the script in the film is exactly the same as the textbook, the way that the movie reveals is totally different. For example, the witches are not like wearing black gown and weird faces, which is how people usually imagined. In stead, they transformed into nurses. Thus, it created a paradox, because nurses are supposed to be merciful and benignant. In contrast, they are evil witches, who give prophecies to Macbeth and led him to the tragic flaw.
There are also some parts that I thought should be different from the Shakespeare’s version. For instance, I thought Macbeth would not use a dagger as the weapon to kill King Duncan due to the film takes place in a more modern period. Yet, it still shows the original version of assassination and the film also makes the assassination offstage.
Overall, I believe this movie brought a lot of benefits to me. The reason is that it reveals all the detail images that written in the textbook, such as Porter’s knocking, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s ambitions. The film gives me a better understanding of the play.
